My Story
Hello and welcome to my Website and Blog. My name is Lui Di Matteo and I have been a software developer for 30+ years in the Toronto area. It seems a long stretch, but time has gone by fast as it usually does for most who have been immersed in their profession.
I was born and raised in Toronto Canada, and live with my wife and 2 sons in Richmond Hill.

Juggling projects, learning new skills, transitioning to new technologies, and dealing with the many implementation and rollouts have been a normal part of my career. Of course, being married and father of two active boys makes my time away from work also hectic but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
​
During the first part of my career I was an AS/400 software developer working on developing and implementing in large ERP systems.
In 2001 I transitioned into SAP ABAP development and have been working on many projects in the Consumer Packaged Goods Industry in that role for the last 19 years.
​
In 2008 I also took on the role of an SAP PI/PO developer and have been involved as a key team member in a number of integration projects including migration from SAP PI 7.0 to PI/PO 7.5.
​
In 2019 I transitioned into independent contract consultant roles and freelance arrangements, continuing in the SAP Technical field. I had been involved in contract roles many years ago and enjoyed the opportunities and challenges they offered, and I’m currently happy to be back in this type of fulfilling work.
